APS Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)
•The PSPS is a method of reducing wildfire risk during severe fire conditions by shutting off grid power. For more information about PSPS visit: https://www.aps.com/en/About/Our-Company/Our-Commitment-to-Safety/Public-Safety-Power-Shutoff
•The entire DPW service area could be affected by a PSPS event. Without electrical power, water service to your home may be diminished or non-existent depending on the location in the system.
•The time span of the outage is determined by the length of the extreme weather conditions. In most cases the event will last for a maximum of 20 hours.
•APS and DPW will communicate with customers in advance of a possible event. Update your communication information with APS and DPW. Register with the Coconino County Emergency Notification System. To update your account information with DPW please call customer service at 928-526-1080.
•Develop an emergency plan for your family, pets, and livestock. DPW recommends storing enough drinking water for your family, pets, and livestock for the expected duration of the event.
•If you or someone in your household has a life-threatening illness or uses critical medical equipment, apply for the APS Medical Care Program each year.
